And what a great party it was! Rehashing the same idea from last year, Emily celebrated her second birthday on Barceloneta beach (next to the gay beach, not far from the nude beach). We billed it as not only a birthday party for the munchkin but as an excuse to catch up with loads of friends whom we hadn’t seen over the long summer.
Large patch of sand. A plethora of blankets. String of balloons stretched from a lampost to a strategically placed pushchair. Chilled music pumping from the nearby chiringuito. Homemade birthday cake. Juice for the kids, wine and beer for the big kids. Lots of snacks. Lots of chats. Lots of kids. Lots of running around. Lots of presents. Lots of messes. Good times. I’d say there must have been at least 40 people there. Who knew Emily had so many friends?
Wow ! what a wonderful way to celebrate such a spectacular young lady. Happy Birthday Emily, we were with you in spirit. Yes, Let them eat cake.
Love you,
Nana and Grampa Phil
I was sad that we couldn’t stay for very long. I did think your idea to have a group get together once a month was a great idea. One big happy group of pushchairs and sand in mouth kids. Emily was a delight, I do hope she likes her books!
Much love Sophie
